Meet a Black Turnstone


A Black Turnstone has a strong neck and bill to turn seaweed or stones searching for a meal of invertebrates. Turnstones live along the Pacific coast's stony beaches and sand. Their appearance is striking in flight, with white patches on the back, wings and tail.
