Oregon Caves, Cave Junction.

When a man chased his dog who chased a bear into a dark place, they discovered the caves.

In 1909, President William Howard Taft created the Oregon Caves National Monument.  Completion of roads and the impact of the motor car allowed travelers to visit the monument when the state Highway Commission and US Forest Service cooperated to build a road to the monument in 1922.

The Chateau takes you back to the simplicity of the '30s. The cave's stream runs everywhere, even through the Chateau's dining room.

Someone on the tour flashed a light and my cell phone captured a heart in the formation.

Loves of the day!

Love is a medicine for the sickness of the world a prescription often given, too rarely taken. ~Dr. Karl Menninger
