Sun Slings His Cape

Tonight the Sun searches for clouds to capture in his cape.

He twirls in gold and a move toward persimmon.

Sun slings his cape wider and wider.

No clouds appear but the Sun still revels in his artistry.

Sun Shows His Wings

From dawn to dusk, the Sun watches airplanes and birds exercise their wings in the sky.

  How do the flying creatures do it?  

 The Sun decides to provide his own show and stretches his wings.

   "Whoa, that's tough work,"  he discovers.

 He feels a bit wobbly but it's fun. Wheeee!

Whew.  Time for bed.

The Tangerine Lady

Each evening, the Tangerine Lady appears. She sails the sky at sunset to notice those who have lost their wings.  It began with one sparrow and she has continued ever since.

At sunset, she cruises, sharing her coral and blush colors with the sun.

They collaborate to reveal those who need assistance.

Meet the Immortality Goddess

Xi-Wangmu, visits tonight's sunset and spreads the color of peaches on the horizon. 

Known as a plaque-carrying tiger spirit during the Han Dynasty, at first she caused trouble for many. Then, after offering the Emperor a bowl of magic peaches, she gained favor. Daoism elevated her to Top Goddess.

She became the Immortality Goddess and Queen mother of Paradise West. When Xi-Wangmu married mu-Gong, known as Mr. Yang, she became his Yin, the personification of femininity. 

She now grows peach trees in her Heavenly Peach Garden. They  take a thousand years to blossom. The Golden Peaches of immortality ripen in nine thousand years. 

Xi-Wangmu offers her peaches to the sun. Eating one of Xi-Wangmu's peaches bestows long life. 

Feeling Like Spring

The Sun Toasts the Clouds.

 Do you see the sun lifting his glass?

Or is an elephant emerging to toast Life?

Now a dog laps at the golden glow. 

The Sun shimmies before easing into his nightly rest.

Butterscotch Dessert

As Tuesday twirls in tangerine, the Sky Alligator suggests 

dessert ideas to the Sun.

 

Together Alligator and Sun create their dessert 

with butterscotch yogurt.

An addition of cinnamon and almond crumbles brings 
out the crunch. 

A pinch of chocolate for fun.

 

The Audience picks up their spoons to dig in.
