Meet the Immortality Goddess

Xi-Wangmu, visits tonight's sunset and spreads the color of peaches on the horizon. 

Known as a plaque-carrying tiger spirit during the Han Dynasty, at first she caused trouble for many. Then, after offering the Emperor a bowl of magic peaches, she gained favor. Daoism elevated her to Top Goddess.

She became the Immortality Goddess and Queen mother of Paradise West. When Xi-Wangmu married mu-Gong, known as Mr. Yang, she became his Yin, the personification of femininity. 

She now grows peach trees in her Heavenly Peach Garden. They  take a thousand years to blossom. The Golden Peaches of immortality ripen in nine thousand years. 

Xi-Wangmu offers her peaches to the sun. Eating one of Xi-Wangmu's peaches bestows long life.
