Days Two and Three for the Bee Relocation

On Saturday, Robin smoked the bees remaining in the water box to make them mellow.  Then she used hot water and a scraper to remove the wax from the lid to discourage their attention.  The bees continued to move to their condo.

Robin added three more frames.  She also applied a plastic screen to the box's bottom entry so the queen could not escape but the other bees could fly in and out.

Robin scrapes the water box top.
By Saturday night many had flown over but a few buzzed in the water box. They supped at the honey on the remaining comb.

Sunday at sunset it appeared the hive of bees had relocated to the wooden box.

We'll wait another day to move the box to its new location to make certain most of the bees have settled in.

In gratitude for Robin's rescue and flexible bees who will prosper their new location.

Lease up at the water box.

Hearts for the bees and Robin's rescue!
