Meet Artist Lori Presthus

Lori Presthus' artistic intention creates art that stirs the soul and awakens our connection to the natural world. She has selected birds because they represent a true sense of perseverance and freedom.

Each bird's individual beauty captivates and offers endless inspiration.

Lori's painting begins with a light pencil sketch defining the basic composition and areas of contrast. She completes the background first with multiple layers of egg tempera. Each layer is applied thinly and allowed to dry before applying the next layer. This creates a luminosity and depth similar to the effect of layered glass.

If you look closely at the painting you will see the many layers of color. With the background complete, the subject begins to form. Pastels and colored pencils add to the detail. Lori paints the backgrounds in a free, expressive style.

These exquisite pendants encase a miniature giclee of a full size original encased in resin, set in solid handmade bronze and sterling bezels. Accented by hand-coloring and semi precious stones, they are truly wearable forms of art.
